You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cup of self raising flour
- 2 tablespoon of olive oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 cup warm water
- Vegetable oil for tava
Cooking tools:
- Tava Futura Hard Anodised Concave Tava Griddle, 10-Inch, 6.35mm with Steel Handle
- Silicon cooking brush MIU France Silicone Basting Brush with Stainless Steel Handle
- Roller pin J.K. Adams BRP-1 10-1/2-Inch by 2-1/8-Inch Maple Bakers Rolling Pin
- Place the flour and the oil in a bowl.
- Add water slowly and start kneading as the dough starts to come together.
- Let the dough rest in the bowl for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Put the dough on the counter. Sprinkle a little flour on the counter to prevent sticking.
- Roll out the dough with the roller pin in a large circle. With the cooking brush, spread out about 1 tablespoon vegetable oil on the dough. Now roll the dough up, forming a long roll.
- Cut the roll in to 8 pieces.
- Heat up the tava (medium heat)
- Roll out each piece of dough into a thin circle.
- Spread 1 teaspoon of oil on the tava with the cooking brush.
- Put the dough on the tava. As soon as "bubbles" appear, spread a little oil on the surface of the dough with the cooking brush and flip the dough over to cook the other side.
- Flip the dough over again and let it cook for a few minutes.
- If both sides of the dough are nicely cooked, your roti is ready to serve!
