When I first started to cook Indian curries, I would always use curry paste from a jar. But I knew that curry paste from a jar was not always a healthy choice. Especially when I started to watch what I eat, I knew it was time to make my own curry sauce. Check out this healthy and natural recipe for curry sauce.
Ingredients
• 2 tbs of olive oil
• 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 1 tsp of fesh minced ginger root
• 2 tsp kurkuma
• 1 tsp of cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp of ground coriander seeds
• 1 tbs of tomato puree
• 1 tomato
• 1 tsp of garam masala
• 1 tsp of curry powder
• 1 tsp of fresh lemon juice
• salt to taste
Cooking directions
Add the olive oil, ginger and the onion to a frying pan. Saute for about 15 minutes.
Add the kurkuma, cumun seeds and the ground coriander seeds and mix well. Add the rest of the ingredients. Stir fry for about 10 minutes.
If you like your curry sauce to be smooth, now is the time to put the whole mixture in a blender.
Now put the mixture back in the frying pan and cook for about 25 minutes on low heat. The curry paste is ready now!
To make a delicious chicken curry, add chicken to the mixture and cook till the chicken is tender.
